Baisakhi festival
The name Baisakhi is derived from Vaisakh. Farmers of Punjab and Haryana celebrate the new year after harvesting the winter crop. That is why Baisakhi is the biggest festival of Punjab and surrounding areas. It symbolizes the joy of the ripening of the Rabi crop. On the same day, on 13 April 1699, the tenth Guru Govind Singhji founded the Khalsa Panth.
